BuildBane ("we", "us", or "our") operates the BuildBane platform at buildbane.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using our platform you agree to this policy.

Profile information — any details you choose to add to your profile, such as your role, skills, school, or bio.
Content you post — projects, community posts, job listings, and messages you create on the platform.
Usage information — basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure.
Analytics data — aggregated, anonymised data about how visitors use the platform (pages visited, session duration, general location), collected via Google Analytics only if you consent to analytics cookies.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Third-party services

We work with the following service providers who may process your data on our behalf:

Clerk — authentication and session management. Clerk stores your email and login credentials. See Clerk's privacy policy at clerk.com/privacy.
Railway — application hosting and infrastructure. Your data is stored on Railway's servers. See railway.app/legal/privacy.
MailerSend — transactional email delivery for notifications. See mailersend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
GoDaddy — domain registrar. GoDaddy processes our domain registration only and does not have access to your data.
Google Analytics — website analytics, used only if you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited and session duration. See policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out at any time via our cookie banner or by declining analytics cookies.

4. Cookies

We use two categories of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies — session cookies set by Clerk to keep you logged in. These are required for the platform to function and are set automatically. You can clear them at any time via your browser settings, which will log you out.
Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data. These are only loaded if you explicitly accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Content you posted (such as projects) may remain visible in an anonymised form.
