Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the BuildBane platform operated by BuildBane ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using BuildBane, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use BuildBane. By creating an account or using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If we discover that a user is under 18, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate their account.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must provide accurate information when registering. You may not create accounts to impersonate others or to circumvent a prior ban. Notify us immediately at buisnessbuddies2004@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

You own the content you post on BuildBane — projects, posts, descriptions, and messages. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute it as necessary to operate the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe third-party rights. We do not claim ownership of anything you post.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use BuildBane to:

• Harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate, or target other users
• Post, send, or promote scams, phishing links, malware, fraudulent opportunities, or misleading job/project listings
• Impersonate another person, company, school, project, or organization
• Share another person's private information without permission
• Send spam, mass unsolicited messages, or automated outreach
• Request passwords, private credentials, payment information, private code, confidential documents, or other sensitive information from users
• Post content that infringes intellectual property rights, including copied logos, code, designs, pitch decks, or project materials
• Recruit for fake, misleading, discriminatory, illegal, or unsafe roles
• Use BuildBane for academic misconduct, cheating-for-hire, credential fraud, or other deceptive services
• Attempt to scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to BuildBane or its systems
• Use BuildBane in a way that violates applicable law or harms the safety, privacy, or trust of the community

5. Project and job postings

Users may post projects, collaboration opportunities, and roles on BuildBane. You are responsible for ensuring that any project, role, or opportunity you post is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.

You may not post fake opportunities, misleading compensation, discriminatory requirements, illegal work, unpaid roles disguised as paid roles, scams, or opportunities that require users to provide sensitive personal information before trust has been established.

You may not post or promote any project, business, service, or content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, or adult in nature. BuildBane is a professional collaboration platform and such content is prohibited regardless of its legality elsewhere.

BuildBane does not verify every project, role, user, company, or opportunity posted on the platform. Users are responsible for doing their own due diligence before collaborating, applying, sharing information, sending money, signing agreements, or relying on another user's claims.

6. Moderation and termination

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or that we determine is harmful to the community, without prior notice. We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations. If your account is terminated, you may not create a new one without our permission.

Users may report content or accounts they believe violate these terms. We take reports seriously and will review them in good faith. Submitting a report does not guarantee a particular outcome.

We may review reported content, account activity, messages, or related information when necessary to investigate safety, abuse, fraud, legal, or policy issues. We do not routinely monitor private messages, but we reserve the right to act on content that is reported or otherwise brought to our attention.

7. Disclaimers

BuildBane is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any bugs will be fixed on a particular timeline. We are not responsible for any collaborations, agreements, or disputes that arise between users.

8. Third-party links and services

BuildBane may contain links to third-party websites, services, communities, or integrations. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Accessing third-party services is at your own risk and is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildBane will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of BuildBane. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the greater of $100 CAD or the amount you paid to BuildBane in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of BuildBane after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
